Rwanda - Cape Verde 74-82

Cape Verde gained the second victory at the AfroBasket. They beat hosting Rwanda for 2-1 record in Group A. Fidel Mendonca (191-F-84) and Joel Almeida (195-F-85, college: Brockport St.) posted 16 points each for the winners.
Cape Verde sank 29 points in the first period to open a 15-point lead. They held Rwanda to just 12 points in the second term to secure a 20-point lead at the interval. Cape Verde followed with a 22-17 run in the third term to take a 25-point advantage. Rwanda sank 31 points in the fourth frame but just sweetened the pill at the end. Walter Tavares (220-C-92) produced 14 points for Cape Verde. Emile Kazeneza (203-F-00) responded with 18 points for Rwanda.
